"I am considering becoming a Real Estate Agent, but BEFORE I do, can someone please tell me the TRUTH about what I should expect as a Real Estate Agent..."

Are you seriously thinking about becoming a Real Estate Agent? Are you one of those people that have thought about it...once, twice, maybe countless times? Do you really get excited about the idea of trying a new career, becoming your own boss and the possibility of making more money?

All of these possibilities really do excite you, but, WAIT...you're not totally SOLD on whether or not being a Real Estate Agent is really the right career path for you or even worth the investment.
Do you know people that have:

  • Gone to Real Estate School, but didn't take the exam?

  • Gone to Real Estate School, passed the exam, but still did not become a Real Estate Agent?

  • Gone to Real Estate School, passed the exam, joined a Real Estate company, but "QUIT" before they really got started?

I know plenty of people that fit into one of those categories. These are people that were fascinated by some aspect of being a Real Estate Agent, but didn't "CALCULATE the COSTS" first! They didn't research the career - ya know, they didn't learn the advantages and disadvantages (the ups and downs) - which there are both in this profession.

As you're reading this page, I know that you are very serious about making a decision on whether or not becoming a Real Estate Agent is the right thing to do. I know that you would really like to make a decision on this soon. But, you are cautious. I understand. I know that you need straight talk and honest answers about what to consider BEFORE you take the plunge of investing your time, money and energy. And, please note that your time, money and energy are equally important.

Since, you are sincerely considering this profession, I know the following questions have must have entered into your mind...

  • Should I really pursue a career as a Real Estate Agent?

  • What is required of me if I do become a Real Estate Agent?

  • Do I have what it takes to be successful in this industry?

  • Can I afford to be a Real Estate Agent?

  • How much money can I really make as a Real Estate Agent?

You may be thinking...WOW..."Is she in my head?" How can she be so precise with articulating what I am thinking, better yet, understanding what I need?

I know both what you're thinking and what you need, because I was once where you are today 9 years ago. Before, I became a Real Estate Agent I had tons of questions (just like you)!

"22 Questions I Gotta Ask Myself BEFORE I Become a Real Estate Agent is one of the BEST tools available for you to get those desperately needed questions answered!

See, I am a planner. I like to research information, weigh out the pros and cons before I make a decision. I value my decision-making and have learned to take full responsibility for the outcomes. Nine years ago, I desperately sought inside information about this career and answers to my burning questions.

However, most of the information I found were job descriptions or articles on "How to Be a Successful Real Estate Agent." These types of articles would have been helpful, if I had "already" decided that I was going to pursue a career as a Real Estate Agent. But, during that time, I had not yet made that decision.

What I really needed was for someone to "Keep It Real" with me and tell me the scoop on "WHAT BEING A REAL ESTATE AGENT IS REALLY LIKE!" You know, tell me what I should expect (work hours, monthly dues, commission checks, how to get clients, etc). Basically, I needed someone to tell me the TRUTH, so that, I could determine if "I WAS CUT OUT FOR THIS TYPE OF WORK."

I needed to know if becoming a Real Estate Agent was something that I really wanted to do. Would it fit my personality? Could I handle the demands, pressure, or possible stress? I wanted to know "IF IT WAS A GOOD FIT FOR ME, MY LIFESTYLE AND MY WALLET." I didn't want to make any costly mistakes!

Get FREE eBook: Can You AFFORD to be a Realtor?

In 2007, I decided to take the plunge and become a Real Estate Agent without having many of my questions answered. However, I regret not knowing then, what I know now. I may have done some things differently.

I tried to seek wise counsel. I didn't know too many Real Estate Agents, but the ones that I did know, I tried to talk to them about their career as a Realtor. But, even then I didn't always get the honesty and realness that I was seeking. Sure, they were encouraging by saying, "You should try it!" Or, "I think you'll be good at this!"

Although, I appreciated their positive affirmations...it didn't quench my burning questions. I NEEDED ANSWERS!!!

Over the years I've had SO MANY individuals to ask me about becoming a Real Estate Agent. It has been my pleasure to share the truth with them. I believe in "Paying it forward."

I am a Licensed Real Estate Agent in the state of Arkansas. I have real, raw and relevant experience on the encounters that you must be "prepared" to face if you decide that becoming a Real Estate Agent is right for you.

I love being a Real Estate Agent. It is one of the very best decisions that I've made in my adult life. However, I do know that everyone is NOT cut out to be successful in this industry. My goal is to increase your awareness and help you calculate the costs effectively. Please understand that by "costs" I mean more than just your monetary investment, but your time and energy as well.

Over the years as a Realtor, I have learned so much about the industry! When people ask me about the pros and cons of being a Real Estate Agent, I tell them the TRUTH.

I don't try to persuade people into becoming a Real Estate Agent. I provide you with intelligent research so you can make an good, quality decision for yourself about this career.

I have combined the inside knowledge that I have as a Real Estate Agent along with what I "Wish I knew" before I made my decision to become a Real Estate Agent.

By using this combination, I came up with 22 QUESTIONS I GOTTA ASK MYSELF BECOME I BECOME A REAL ESTATE AGENT! Without a doubt, these are 22 of the MOST important questions to ask. I am giving you questions with answers that you didn't even "know" you should be asking. I've got you covered. I know what you need at this stage of your "decision-making."

I need those 22 questions that I may NOT know to ask! Along with getting the answers to those 22 questions, I am going to teach you EVERYTHING about each one of these topics:

  • The advantages of being a Real Estate Agent

  • The disadvantages of being a Real Estate Agent

  • Why being a Real Estate Agent is NOT a hobby

  • How being a Real Estate Agent is like "Running a business"

  • Knowing what traits and characteristics to possess

  • Assessing "Why" you want to become a Real Estate Agent

Let's explore, "Why being a Real Estate Agent is NOT a hobby." You cannot invest your time, money and energy into becoming a Real Estate Agent just as a hobby, recreation or past time activity.

Being a Real Estate Agent is going to "Cost you money EACH MONTH!" You can't afford to sit around and twiddle your thumbs. You must possess drive, discipline and hustle, so that, you can "justify" paying your monthly and yearly dues. These monthly dues have to be paid each month whether you sell a home that month or not! Therefore, this profession should not be treated as a hobby...unless you've got it like that (and, don't mind throwing money away)!

You have to sell houses to make MONEY! If don't sell houses, you won't be able to maintain the expenses that are attached to being a Real Estate Agent.

I mentioned above, that "Being a Real Estate Agent is like "Running a Business." If you become a Realtor, you are essentially running your "Own business." You set your own hours, schedule, even your salary. Everything that is produced (whether good or bad) is controlled by "YOU!"

I have SO MUCH information that I need to share with you that will 1000% help you make your decision on whether to become a Real Estate Agent. However, I need to get you over to my brand new website.

4 Stars - Becoming a real estate agent.

This eBook did a superb job delving into some of the subject matter I have failed to locate through a simple Google search. It was an easy, quick read. The reason I gave it four stars is because I do think it could have been a tad bit more informative. However, it was refreshing to hear these words spoken by an above average industry standard agent. Definitely worth the read.

Good information to have before starting down this path.

Dear Tranett,

I finished reading the book about three weeks ago and I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed reading your e-book. It was such an easy read. I was so overwhelmed with the information you provided. I was not expecting the information to be so informative. I mean you gave the reader the "real deal". THE PRO'S AND THE CON'S.

You provided enough insight into the industry for the reader(me) to make an educated decision on a career in this field. You have covered every question that I wondered about, not by just giving a direct answer, but going into full detail with your answer. I feel like there is no way any one will go into a career as a Real Estate Agent blind sided, if they have read, "22 Questions You Gotta Ask Yourself Before You Become a Real Estate Agent" e-book.- Kim R.

Thank you so very much for sharing your E-Book. I just read it and it was so informative and answered all my questions. You are a real blessing! And I thank you again for sharing this information with me. I will be thinking about it and praying about it before I make any decisions, and with the information you provided, I think my decision will be the right one.

You are so awesome to have taken all the time it took to put this together to share with people to help them decide if real estate is for them.

-Kay M.

I can't thank you enough for all the information your book provided. It answered all of the questions I had, and helped me decide that pursuing a career in real estate is a right move for me. Because of your honesty, I am fully aware of the risks involved, but also look forward to the benefits. Thank you again for this wonderful and helpful book.

Hello Tranett,

Thank you for opening my eyes to pursuing the life of a real estate agent..... I start my classes in a few weeks, and your ebook has given me a lot of insight. Great job !!

- Calvin

Hi Tranett,

I got a chance to read your eBook, it was very informative. I honestly never knew exactly what it took to become a realtor, except going to school and taking an exam. I learned so much; like I had no idea that you as the realtor hires the real estate company. I always thought that I could go to school, get licensed and go work for a real estate company, just like I would at any other job.

Before reading your book, I never knew of the monthly and yearly fees that were associated with being an agent. My thoughts again was, I get hired by a real estate company and work through them. I also never knew that as an agent I would have to find my own clients. My thoughts were that buyers seek the company as a whole and agents were assigned clients. Again all mind blowing facts (at least for me).

Again I would like to thank you for enlightening me with your knowledge of being a realtor (you are an excellent realtor), I learned so much, but I question my ability to be able to get out there and find potential clients, although I think I could sell a house. Now that I know all expense that come alone with real estate, I really have to sit and weigh my option, and make sure that I am financially able to conquer this endeavor.

Best Realtor E-Book Yet!!!!!, January 8, 2013

This review is from: 22 Questions I Gotta Ask Myself BEFORE I Become a Real Estate Agent (Kindle Edition)

I have been thinking about a career change into real estate but, I just wasn't sure about what direction to take and if becoming a Realtor was the best move. Hearing all the things on the media, I was nervous! So, I got online to search the web and I found a lot of books on Real Estate but nothing on becoming Realtor and the real truth about it in depth. Then, I search on Amazon and this book came up, and when I seen the title I said " this is amazing"! So I read the description on about the book and reading half of the description I knew this was the one and I was right! This book is amazing, all the questions I had about this career, is in this book! I love it and I am now getting ready to enter into Real Estate school in 2 weeks!

- Derick

This eBook was very helpful. If you are on the fence and are having trouble deciding one way or the other this could really help you to make that final decision. It is realistic and gives you a lot to think about you just need to be honest with your self evaluation (Purchased on February 9, 2013 via AMAZON)

3/13/13 Update I really thought about the contents of this publication long and hard. It gave me the true reality of what it would be to become a real estate sales person. It wouldn't be easy and it would take a lot of hard work. It didn't promise a ton of money or a glamorous life. It was truthful and honest. Since then I made the decision to enter real estate school and enrolled. I am about 3/4 through now and I have a brokerage lined up to work with as soon as I pass the license exam, hopefully early April. It is going to be a lot of hard work. But once again this eBook really helped me to truly evaluate myself honestly and came to the decision real estate may be for me. It helped me to know what I was getting myself into before I went in with both feet. My estimation you couldn't read a better book to evaluate if you may be right for a real estate career.

- Dan

Hi Tranett,

Just wanted to send a quick email to let you know how much I enjoyed your book. I am currently a successful wedding photographer in Knoxville, TN with a dream of becoming a Real Estate Agent. Formally in banking and insurance, I decided to take up photography 6 years ago and before I knew it, it became a full fledge business. Your book really clarified questions I wanted answered before "interviewing" prospective brokers. I wanted to go into my scheduled meeting with these brokers armed with knowledge, and I feel like I will do just that. Thank you for being open, honest and smart enough to write this great piece of information!

Best of luck to you in the coming years!!
