What Should I Know BEFORE I Jump Into this Career?
"I am considering becoming a Real Estate Agent, but BEFORE I do, can someone please tell me the TRUTH about what I should expect as a Real Estate Agent..."
DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU? Are you seriously thinking about pursuing a career as a Real Estate Agent? Are you one of those people that have thought about it...once, twice, maybe countless times? Do you know people that have:

- Gone to Real Estate School, passed the exam, but still did not become a Real Estate Agent?
- Gone to Real Estate School, passed the exam, joined a Real Estate company, but "QUIT" before they really got started?
I know plenty of people that fit into one of those categories. These are people that were fascinated by some aspect of being a Real Estate Agent, but didn't "CALCULATE the COSTS" first! They didn't research the career - ya know, learn the advantages and disadvantages (the pros and cons) - which there are both in this profession. As you're reading this page, I know that you are very serious about making a decision on whether or not becoming a Real Estate Agent is the right thing to do. I know that you would really like to make a decision on this soon. But, you are cautious. I understand. I know that you need straight talk and honest answers about what to consider BEFORE you take the plunge of investing your time, money and energy. And, please note that your time, money and energy are equally important. Since, you are sincerely considering this profession, I know the following questions have must have entered into your mind... - Should I really pursue a career as a Real Estate Agent?
- What is required of me if I do become a Real Estate Agent?

You may be thinking...WOW..."Is she in my head?" How can she be so precise with articulating what I am thinking, better yet, understanding what I need? I know both what you're thinking and what you need, because I was once where you are today four years ago. Before, I became a Real Estate Agent I had tons of questions (just like you)! 22 Questions You Gotta Ask Yourself BEFORE You Become a Real Estate Agent is one of the BEST tools available for you to get those desperately needed questions answered! See, I am a planner. I like to research information, weigh out the pros and cons before I make a decision. I value my decision-making and have learned to take full responsibility for their outcomes. Four years ago, I desperately sought inside information about this career and answers to my burning questions.
However, most of the information I found was about "How to Become a Real Estate Agent" or "How to Be a Successful Real Estate Agent." These types of articles would have been helpful, if I had "already" decided that I was going to pursue a career as a Real Estate Agent. But, during my time, I had not yet made that decision.
What I really needed was for someone to "Keep It Real" with me and tell me the scoop on "WHAT BEING A REAL ESTATE AGENT IS REALLY LIKE!" You know, tell me what I should expect (work hours, monthly dues, commission checks, how to get clients, etc). Basically, I needed someone to tell me the TRUTH, so that, I could determine if "I WAS CUT OUT FOR THIS TYPE OF WORK."
I needed to know if becoming a Real Estate Agent was something that I really wanted to do. Would it fit my personality? Could I handle the demands, pressure, or possible stress? I wanted to know "IF IT WAS A GOOD FIT FOR ME, MY LIFESTYLE AND MY WALLET." I didn't want to make any costly mistakes!I decided to take the plunge and become a Real Estate Agent without having many of my questions answered. However, I regret not knowing then, what I know now. I may have done some things differently. One thing I did do was "Seek wise counsel." I didn't know too many Real Estate Agents, but the ones that I did know, I tried to talk to them about their career as a Realtor. But, even then I didn't always get the honesty and realness that I was seeking. Sure, they were encouraging by saying, "You should try it!" Or, "I think you'll be good at this!" Although, I appreciated their positive affirmations...it didn't quench my burning questions. I NEEDED ANSWERS!!!
Over the last year I've had SO MANY individuals to ask me about becoming a Real Estate Agent. It has been my pleasure to share the truth with them (because, I believe in "Paying it forward"). I am a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty. I have real, raw experience on the encounters that you must be "prepared" to face if you decide that this career choice is for you. I love being a Real Estate Agent. It is one of the very best decisions that I've made in my adult life. However, I do know that everyone is NOT cut out to be successful in this industry. My goal is to increase your awareness and help you calculate the costs effectively. Please understand that by "costs" I mean more than just your monetary investment, but your time and energy as well.
Over these last years as a Realtor, I have learned so much about the industry! When people ask me about the pros and cons of being a Real Estate Agent, I tell them the truth.I don't try to persuade people into becoming Real Estate Agents. I try to make them aware of all the most important details about the profession so that they can make an educated and quality decision for themselves. Of course, I would love for more of you to join me and other fellow Realtors, but only "if" you've had an opportunity to get your questions answered and feel comfortable with venturing into this career. I have combined the inside knowledge that I have as a Real Estate Agent along with what I "Wish I knew" BEFORE I made my decision to become a Real Estate Agent. By using this combination, I have come up with 22 QUESTIONS THAT YOU GOTTA ASK YOURSELF BEFORE YOU BECOME A REAL ESTATE AGENT! In my professional opinion, these are the MOST important questions to ask, because the answers will truly help you to determine if you want to give this a shot! Along with getting the answers to those 22 questions, you will also want to learn EVERYTHING about each one of these topics: - The advantages of being a Real Estate Agent
- The disadvantages of being a Real Estate Agent
- Why being a Real Estate Agent is NOT a hobby
- How being a Real Estate Agent is like "Running a business"
- Knowing what traits and characteristics to possess
- Assessing "Why" you want to become a Real Estate Agent
Let's explore, "Why being a Real Estate Agent is NOT a hobby." You would not want to invest your time, money and energy into becoming a Real Estate Agent just as a hobby, recreation or past time activity.Being a Real Estate Agent is going to "Cost you money EACH MONTH." Therefore, you can't sit around and twiddle your thumbs. You must possess drive, discipline and hustle so that you can "justify" paying your monthly and yearly dues. These monthly dues have to be paid every month whether you sell a home or not! So, you can see why this profession cannot be treated as a hobby. And, most importantly, you gotta sell some houses in order to make MONEY! If not, you won't be able to maintain the expenses that are attached to being a Real Estate Agent. I mentioned above, that "Being a Real Estate Agent is like "Running a Business." If you become a Realtor, you are essentially running your "Own business." You set your own hours, schedule, even your salary. Everything that is produced (whether good or poor) is controlled by "YOU!" If you are not assertive, innovative, creative and driven by challenges you may not do well in business for yourself. But, if you have those attributes listed above; and the thought of having the freedom, flexibility and unlimited income potential gets you "pumped up" then you have a good chemistry that is essential to be a successful Real Estate Agent. I would love to share with you ALL of the knowledge that I have obtained over the years, but simply cannot convey everything to you on this one page. But, just for you, I've written a dynamic ebook that answers all 22 of those questions below, PLUS a "Behind the Scenes" look at the life of a Real Estate Agent. In this ebook, I am sharing personal information about how much I've made over the last few years, my experiences, and real talk about this career to help you make a good decision about becoming a Real Estate Agent.
